1. Why is the owner selling the car in the first place?

Different owners make the decision to sell their vehicles for a number of different reasons. Asking this question will help put things into perspective and give you a better idea of the overall value of the car.

2. How many owners have previously owned the car?

Some will wonder about the number of people who have owned the car. A long list can be alarming and indicate some problems.

3. Who is the seller?

When it comes to buying a used car, you have two main options: buying from an individual or buying from a car dealership. The first option deserves more attention than the other. You will need to make sure you know more about the model in order to get a more reliable car. On the other hand, the second option may be more expensive, this obviously depends on the model and year of the car.

4. How much mileage does the car have?

Mileage is the prime indicator of the value of the car and it also gives you a bit more insight on the condition of the car and the potential maintenance costs.

5. Has the car been in any accidents?

A car’s history report gives you better knowledge of the condition of the car and answers key questions about mileage, ownership and whether it’s been involved in any crashes. If it has suffered collisions or other types of accidents, it may be necessary to repair the car again.

6. How much fuel does the car consume?

Whether its to save money or to be more conscientious of the environment, fuel consumption is of great importance - especially if you plan on taking a trip!

7. Is the vehicle reliable?

The main reason you are buying a car is for better convenience. If it breaks down after a few outings, it wouldn’t be very convenient! It is therefore important to ensure that you check the vehicle’s reliability prior to making a purchase.
